Our JayBird Panama trip was an unforgettable journey into the heart of Afro-Panamanian history and culture. From the rhythms of Congo and Calypso to the flavors of traditional Caribbean-infused cuisine, we immersed ourselves in the vibrant legacy of Panama’s African diaspora. We explored historic sites, connected with local communities, and gained a deeper understanding of the resilience and contributions of Afro-Panamanians. Through music, storytelling, and shared experiences, this trip was a celebration of identity, heritage, and joy.

LINE DANCING
On a lively Saturday night, community members gathered to learn new line dances and revive old favorites. With music by Cathy Forde and dance instruction from Marlena Rose, attendees laughed, danced, and connected with friends old and new. The event showcased the joy of dance and community spirit, ensuring a good time was had by all.
